Private Instruction
Fee: $100 per hour
Private lessons range in duration based on the needs of the student. Lessons are typically held online via zoom at a regularly scheduled time.
With over 10 years of experience teaching chess, combined with the use of the latest technology, students are likely to show significant improvement in their game when working with National Master Ian Harris.
Students of all ages and levels have already benefitted immensely from lessons with NM Harris, many of which have shown significant improvements in their ratings.

Cancellation Policy: No charge for lessons cancelled at least one day in advance. 50% charge for same day cancellations. No show lessons will be charged the full price for the lesson.

Group Training and Classes
Training groups meet for longer periods (1.5-2.5 hours per week) to work on advanced materials in a collaborative setting with NM Harris. Participants are grouped based on age and ability. Currently groups are running children, girls and adults.
Prices vary based on the level and duration of classes/groups.
I have recently completed three chess programs over the last year with Red Bandit Chess, Beginner 1, 2, and 3. Many of my chess skills and game strategies have improved, including openings, end games and move calculations. By the third program Ian spent time analyzing famous games to help the class understand how several chess masters strategize and move to defeat an opponent.
Ian is a friendly and straight forward instructor. I appreciated that his sessions were interactive for class members to ask questions and respond to questions. Ian explains answers to questions from attendees clearly. I highly recommend Red Bandit Chess programs to any level player that wants to learn more about chess and improve their game.

A variety of services are available to schools and other organizations including, classes, lectures, workshops, tournaments, simultaneous exhibitions and more.
NM Ian Harris has experience working with dozens of schools and thousands of students. Programs are customized specifically to the needs of each individual organization. We can help administrators/parents start a new program for children of any age. Schools can enhance their existing programs by requesting help organizing a workshop, tournament or other special event.
