Introduction To Chess

Instruction is provided by National Master Ian Harris.  All classes are designed to be interactive with students able suggest moves and move the pieces on the board.    

Participants will review the rules of chess, checkmating patterns and basic strategy for each part of the game including opening, middlegame and endgame.  

Classes will take place on Tuesdays from 4:00pm - 4:45pm EST starting on January 5th

6 Classes (1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9)

Open to grades 1 - 6

Following each class, participants will receive a print out version of the class in both PGN and PDF formats along with follow up exercises.  Limit of 10 participants.  Registration Deadline: January 4th
